About the Role

As a Room Leader, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality education and care while leading and mentoring a team of educators.

You’ll work collaboratively with Centre Leadership to design and implement engaging programs aligned with:

• Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF)
• National Quality Standard (NQS)
• National Regulations & the National Quality Framework (NQF)

 Key Responsibilities

Child-Focused Practice

• Build strong, nurturing relationships with children
• Create and implement engaging, play-based learning programs
• Support children’s wellbeing, safety, and development

Family & Community Engagement

• Develop positive partnerships with families
• Encourage family involvement in learning programs
• Contribute to community connections

Leadership & Team Development

• Lead, mentor and support educators within your room
• Foster a collaborative and positive team culture
• Support student placements and team development
• Contribute to reflective practice and continuous improvement

Health, Safety & Compliance

• Maintain safe, clean, and compliant environments
• Follow all WHS, hygiene and regulatory requirements
• Respond effectively to incidents and emergencies

Operational Responsibilities

• Work within the centre’s policies and procedures
• Complete documentation and administrative tasks
• Step into the Person in Charge responsibilities when required

About You

Essential

• Diploma in Early Childhood Education & Care (or ACECQA-approved equivalent)
• Current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
• HLTAID012 First Aid (or willingness to obtain)
• Strong knowledge of EYLF, NQS and early childhood best practice
• Experience planning and implementing programs (0–5 years)
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Desirable

• Previous leadership or Room Leader experience
• Understanding of WHS and compliance requirements
• Passion for mentoring and developing others
