Program Manager – National Resilience & Security Full Time NEW

About the Role

In this position, you will be responsible for the planning, coordination, and delivery of strategic programs and initiatives aligned to national resilience and security priorities. You will play a key role in identifying and developing opportunities that translate innovation and research into practical outcomes, while supporting workforce and capability development.

The role requires strong stakeholder engagement across multiple sectors, including government, academia, and industry, with a focus on building sustainable partnerships and delivering high-impact outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of strategic programs from concept through to delivery
• Identify and secure funding opportunities to support program growth and innovation
• Develop business cases, proposals, and grant submissions in collaboration with key stakeholders
• Build and maintain strong relationships across government, defence, industry, and research sectors
• Facilitate collaboration to deliver integrated and innovative program outcomes
• Oversee program governance, including stakeholder engagement, reporting, and presentations
• Manage risks and ensure appropriate mitigation strategies are in place
• Ensure successful transition of initiatives into operational environments

About You

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

• Proven experience in program or project management within complex environments
• Strong strategic thinking and business development capability
• Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
• Experience working across government, research, defence, or industry sectors (highly regarded)
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver outcomes in dynamic settings
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills

Relevant tertiary qualifications and experience in innovation, research translation, or capability development will be highly regarded.

Additional Requirements

• Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Government security clearance
• Willingness to undergo background, integrity, and police checks
