Are you an experienced Chef or Cook who enjoys creating nutritious, appealing meals for children?

BB Recruitment & Consulting is seeking passionate and reliable Childcare Centre Chefs and Cooks for casual relief assignments and permanent positions with our valued childcare clients.

This is a wonderful opportunity to use your creativity and food preparation skills while positively contributing to children’s health, wellbeing and enjoyment of food.

Key responsibilities include:

• Planning and preparing nutritious, balanced and age-appropriate meals and snacks
• Catering for allergies, intolerances, cultural requirements and special dietary needs
• Creating varied and appealing menus that encourage healthy eating
• Following food safety, hygiene and infection-control procedures
• Maintaining a clean, safe and well-organised kitchen
• Managing food supplies, stock rotation and inventory
• Working collaboratively with educators, centre leaders and families when required
• Maintaining accurate food safety and dietary records
• Engaging positively with children and supporting enjoyable mealtime experiences

To be successful, you will ideally have:

• Previous experience as a Chef or Cook, preferably within childcare, education or a similar setting
• Certificate III or higher in Commercial Cookery
• A current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate or relevant food-handling qualification
• Sound knowledge of food safety requirements, allergies and dietary restrictions
• An understanding of nutrition and appropriate portion sizes for children
• Strong organisation and time-management skills
• The ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team
• A friendly, patient and professional approach
• A commitment to maintaining a safe, hygienic and inclusive environment
• A current Working with Children Check, or willingness to obtain one
