Role Overview:

As a Senior Network Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of robust and scalable network infrastructures. You will ensure high levels of availability, performance, and security across LAN, WAN, and cloud-based environments, while also leading key networking projects and mentoring junior team members.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, configure, and manage enterprise-level network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless systems
• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal uptime and user experience
• Lead the deployment and support of secure LAN/WAN, data centre, and cloud network architectures
• Perform network upgrades, migrations, and routine maintenance in accordance with best practices
• Implement and enforce network security protocols, access controls, and monitoring systems
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure projects, network integrations, and system optimisations
• Develop and maintain detailed network documentation and diagrams
• Manage VPNs, SD-WAN, and remote connectivity solutions
• Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance with industry standards and internal policies
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and support staff

Key Skills & Experience:

• Proven experience as a Senior Network Engineer or in a similar role within complex enterprise environments
• Deep knowledge of network protocols, routing (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP), and switching technologies
• Hands-on experience with major networking vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, Fortinet, or Palo Alto
• Proficiency in configuring and managing firewalls, load balancers, and VPNs
• Familiarity with cloud networking across platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Strong understanding of network security principles, including IDS/IPS, NAC, and Zero Trust models
• Experience with network monitoring and management tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Wireshark, NetFlow)
• Scripting and automation knowledge (e.g., Python, Ansible, or similar tools)
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Relevant certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP, or AWS Advanced Networking
• Experience with SDN (Software Defined Networking) and network automation tools
• Knowledge of ITIL practices and service management frameworks
• Background in VoIP, QoS, and unified communications systems
